Route 66 Ultrarun
Seligman, United States • 14 Nov 2026
Event overview
The Route 66 UltraRun is a multi-day ultra running event held along historic Route 66, based in Seligman, Arizona. The 2026 edition is the fourth annual running of the event. The main distance covers 140 miles between the Seligman area and Topock66. The route highlights historic Route 66 sites and includes an official finish at Topock66.
Race format and support
The event offers three primary divisions for the 140-mile route: Crewed Runners, Journey Runners, and Relay Teams. There are no qualification requirements. The race begins with a rolling, Indy-style start in Seligman where runners, crew, volunteers, and spectators may join for the first mile while staying together. Runners have 60 hours to complete the route and there are no intermediate cutoffs.
Journey Runners must be self-supported for stretches up to 20 miles and carry mandatory equipment. Aid for Journey Runners is provided at three time stations: Peach Springs (about 37 miles), Kingman (about 87 miles), and Oatman (about 115 miles). Mobile aid is planned at approximately 17, 57, 77, 100, and 127 miles.
Relay Teams may consist of 3 to 6 members who share the 140 miles and provide mutual support. Team logistics and transition points are decided by each team.
Entries and awards
Registration is limited to set numbers: 25 Crewed Runners, 10 Journey Runners, and 20 Relay Teams. Finishers in Crewed and Journey divisions receive a medal, a belt buckle, and a finisher shirt; they also compete for a traveling trophy. Relay members receive a finisher medal and the annual finisher shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
