The Rosebud Running Festival takes place on Sunday 7 June 2026 at Rosebud on the Mornington Peninsula. The event limits total entrants to 1000 across all distances. Distances offered:

  • Marathon - 42.195 km (maximum 150 entries)
  • Half Marathon - 21.1 km
  • 10 km
  • 5 km
  • 1 km Kids Race (maximum age 10)

Course, facilities and rules

The course uses the Bay Trail and some asphalt paths and runs in and out of the foreshore camping area. Start and finish are at Rosebud Skate Park on Nepean Hwy. The 5 km and 10 km run from Rosebud towards McCrae and return to Rosebud. Marathon runners complete two laps; half marathon and marathon continue past Rosebud toward Capel Sound with the final turnaround just before Rye Pier. The route will be marked with orange flags, cones, fences and directional signage. Timing mats are placed at all turnaround points. Each competitor receives a finishers medal and a race bib with a built-in disposable timing device.

Water and sports drink stations are provided approximately every 3-4 km for the half marathon; the 10 km has two drink stations; the 5 km has no drink stations. Taps and toilets are available along the course. St John First Aid crews will be at the finish and on the course. No dogs, bikes, scooters or rollerblades are allowed on the course.
