Rose Canyon Ultra - Herriman, UT
Rose Canyon Ultra is a trail running event on June 5, 2027, organized by Happy Trails Running. Start and finish are at the Butterfield Canyon Trailhead, 8307 Herriman Hwy, Herriman, UT. The event includes multiple race distances:
- 50 Miler 49.8 miles, +10,737 ft elevation
- 50k 29.4 miles, +5,273 ft elevation
- 30k 18.8 miles, +3,250 ft elevation
Courses use trails in the Rose, Butterfield, and Yellow Fork Canyon areas and include ridges, single track, dirt road, and fire road. Surface breakdown and totals are provided for each distance (for example the 50 Miler is 64% dirt trail, 14% fire road, 22% dirt road). Aid stations offer Tailwind, water, Honey Stinger products, fruit, soda, and assorted packaged snacks. Yellow Fork Aid Station has spectator and crew parking; Butterfield Aid Station has extremely limited parking and crew are not allowed.
Packet pickup is available the Friday before the race at the Sandy Salt Lake Running Store. One drop bag is allowed at Yellow Fork Aid Station for all runners; 50 Miler runners also have designated drop bag locations and may use pacers beginning at Yellow Fork Aid Station. Per-mile cutoffs apply to each distance for safety and permitting. Races are capped to maintain small-field limits and local race operations. Volunteer credit and on-course photos are provided.
