Rose Canyon Ultra
Rose Canyon Ultra is an off-road trail race held June 5th 2027 with start and finish at Butterfield Trailhead Regional Park near Butterfield Canyon. The course runs through the Rose, Butterfield, and Yellow Fork Canyon areas and features ridges, single-track trails, meadows, and dense foliage.

The course is well marked with pink flags, ribbons, signs, and trail marshals; flagging is placed before, during, and after turns and is positioned on the same side as the turn. An orange-flagged loop in Yellow Fork Canyon is separately marked and shown on the course map.
Aid stations are stocked with Tailwind electrolyte drink (caffeinated and noncaffeinated), water, Honey Stinger gels and waffles, fruit, cola and ginger ale, and assorted snack items. Free race photos are provided without a watermark and are available via bib recognition. Finishers receive a locally made finisher medal and a quality race shirt. Post-race food includes baked goods from Great Harvest Bread, chocolate milk, orange juice, bananas, and periodic pizza deliveries.
Pacers are allowed for the 50 mile entry starting at the Yellow Fork Aid Station. Drop bag rules: one drop bag at Butterfield for 50 mile runners and one at Yellow Fork for all distances; drop bags must be brought to the start on race morning. Parking is free and plentiful.
Official pace cutoffs apply for safety and permit compliance: a 19 minute 14 second mile for the 50 mile, a 21 minute 30 second mile for the 50 km, and a 30 minute mile for the 30 km. Packet pickup is available Friday 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Salt Lake Running Company in Sandy and race day pickup begins early on race morning.
