Roll of the Dice is a random distance loop race held on a roughly 3.12 mile singletrack loop. At the start a dice roll determines how many laps each participant will run; the number that appears is the lap count for everyone. The minimum possible distance is 3.12 miles and the maximum possible distance is 18.72 miles. Distances are not guaranteed to be exact.

The course is a single loop of smooth, runnable dirt singletrack. Aid is available at the start and end of each loop and will be cupless; runners must bring their own hydration container. The aid station will provide water and electrolytes during the race and pizza will be provided at the finish. Participants may stop at their vehicle or a personal aid station between laps to retrieve supplies. Restrooms are available in the parking lot adjacent to the trailhead. The event does not offer refunds. The absolute cutoff is six hours after the start and organizers plan to hold the event rain or shine; if weather forces a cancellation there will be no makeup date.
