Cross Country Running in Talent

The Rogue XC is a cross country running event held at the Colver Sports Fields in Talent, Oregon. The event is organized by Southern Oregon Runners and serves as a fundraiser for the Talent Middle School cross country program. The races take place on natural terrain, primarily consisting of grass and wood chip trails.

Participants can choose between two main distances:

  • 5 km (Community race open to all ages)
  • 1 mile (Elementary race open to children aged 5 to 12)

The 5 km course features a mix of surfaces and includes a small hill. Runners have the option to compete individually or as part of a team. Team competition requires between 5 and 7 members to qualify for division titles. Scoring follows traditional cross country rules, where the finishing positions of the top five runners contribute to the team score. Divisions are available for male, female, and co-ed teams in both open and masters categories.

The event provides an opportunity for runners to experience a traditional cross country atmosphere while supporting local youth sports. The venue at Colver Sports Fields offers a course designed for those looking to set personal records on natural surfaces. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
