Rocky Point Patriot Trail Run

The Rocky Point Patriot Trail Run is an annual community event held in Georgetown, South Carolina. The races take place within the Rocky Point Community Forest, a natural area spanning over 650 acres located between Choppee Road, Choppee Creek, and the Black River. This event is a partnership between the Andy Quattlebaum and Blackwell Family Foundation and the Winyah Rivers Alliance, with proceeds benefiting VFW Post 6444 to support military veterans and their families.

Participants can choose from several distances:

  • 10K Run/Walk
  • 5K Run/Walk
  • 1K Kids Dash (for children up to 5 years old)

The 10K course includes a water station at the halfway point, and there is a two-hour time limit for this distance. For safety and course preservation, animals and strollers are not permitted on the race routes. Participants receive a race bib, a custom-designed shirt while supplies last, and a finisher medal.

Parking is available at the Choppee Recreation Center, where restroom facilities are located in the gymnasium and outdoor pavilion. Following the event, snacks and water are provided for participants, with additional food available for purchase. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in the overall categories for both the 5K and 10K races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
