Reesor 50 : race weekend at Reesor Ranch
The event takes place at historic Reesor Ranch in Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park. The ranch sits within rolling grasslands, dense forests and dramatic coulees beneath conglomerate cliffs. The area reflects long use by ranching families and Indigenous peoples.
The weekend offers multiple distances:
- 81 kilometres Reesor 50, trail and dirt-road course
- 42 kilometres Reesor Mountain Marathon
- 10 kilometres Sundown 10 evening run
Reesor 50 specifics include 2300 metres total ascent/descent, more than six aid stations, and terrain of about 75% trail and 25% dirt road. Prize money is awarded to top finishers (1st 2177 USD, 2nd 777 USD, 3rd 646 USD). Race entry includes a meal, beverage, swag, a finisher’s token and eligibility for cash prizes.
Accommodations at the ranch are available on a first-come first-served basis. Festival-style camping in a designated field is available for 40 USD per vehicle for the weekend and must be added to registration by May 1, 2026. Meal options include a Saturday dinner provided with Reesor 50 entries (New York strip steak with sides, or a vegetarian stuffed pepper), and other meals are available for purchase. Refund policy: full refund until February 1, 2026; 50% refund of race fee only until April 1, 2026; no refunds after April 1, 2026; a 5 USD refund fee applies.
