Rattlesnake Master Run for the Prairie : Urbana, Illinois
The 27th annual Rattlesnake Master Run for the Prairie supports Grand Prairie Friends, a nonprofit land trust and conservation group in central Illinois. The event takes place at Meadowbrook Park, a 130-acre park and prairie in Urbana, and includes sections of trail running around the park.
Race options include organized in-person events and virtual races. In-person and virtual entries carry a registration fee of $30. Virtual participants may run their chosen distance at a time and place of their choosing and must report times by November 2; virtual times will be posted but are not eligible for medals. T-shirt orders require registration by October 19. Race packets are available the day before at Body n' Sole in Savoy and on race day at the Garden Pavilion in Meadowbrook Park; parking information is provided by the organizer.
Age-group awards are defined for the 10K and 5K runs across women, men, and non-binary divisions with age brackets from 0–12 through 60 and over. The 5K walk has age categories of 0–35, 36–49, and 50 and over. Event regulations prohibit dogs, strollers, and hiking poles. There are no refunds; the event proceeds rain or shine.
