The Allerton Park Trail Run takes place on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Robert Allerton Park and Retreat Center in Monticello, IL. The event schedule includes the following distances and formats:

The 2-mile nature walk is non-competitive and will not receive awards.

A portion of race proceeds is donated to Allerton Park for trail maintenance and park enhancements; past uses include a railing at a dangerous spot, trail erosion control, recycle bins, a water fountain bottle filling station, and a new café in the visitor center. Virtual participants are not eligible for age-group awards; virtual results can be entered from October 25, 2026 through October 31, 2026. The event offers overall awards for the 5.7-mile run (top male, top female, top male masters, top female masters) and age-group awards (top 3 M/F in specified age ranges). Door prizes and costume contest prizes are listed. Volunteers are needed and will receive direction or training as required. For safety, dogs are not allowed on the trail run or nature walk. Run scenic single track loops around Clinton Lake near DeWitt, IL through forests, hills and meadows with a bridge connecting the course. Choose the 30 Miler or 10 Mile, enjoy post race food and a long sleeved finisher item.
