Rainbow Trail Run 2026

The Rainbow Trail Run takes place at Earl Rowe Provincial Park in Alliston, Ontario. This fifth annual event features a primary trail loop of approximately 12 km that circles Earl Rowe Lake. The terrain consists mostly of double-wide paths, grass, and dirt, with some sections of rocks, roots, and minimal pavement when crossing park roads. The course is relatively flat with one short climb to a lookout point.

Participants can choose from various distances based on the number of completed loops:

  • 6 km (Half loop)
  • 12 km (Full loop)
  • 24 km (Two loops)
  • 50 km (Four loops, including an extra 2 km segment)
  • 62 km (Five loops, including an extra 2 km segment)

This is a cup-free event. Runners receive a collapsible cup at kit pickup to use at the two aid stations located along the course. These stations provide water, electrolytes, and snacks. A barbecue is provided for finishers starting in the late morning, and a final cutoff time is enforced for all distances in the evening.

Registration includes park entry for one vehicle. The venue offers additional facilities such as swimming, canoeing, and camping sites. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in each solo event. The race also partners with a local wildlife rehabilitation centre for fundraising efforts. A virtual participation option is available for those unable to attend in person. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
