Ragged 75 Stage Race and 50K

The event offers two trail formats around the Sunapee Ragged Kearsarge Greenway loop surrounding Lake Sunapee in New Hampshire. Options are a multi-day stage race totaling approximately 75 miles with about 15,500 feet of elevation gain, and a single-day point-to-point 50K of roughly 33 miles with about 6,300 feet of vertical.

Distances:

  • 75 Mile 3-Day Stage Race
  • 50K Race (approx 33 miles)

For the 3-day stage race, the route is divided into three stages of roughly 24 miles (about 4,900 ft vertical), 23 miles (about 4,300 ft vertical), and 33 miles (about 6,300 ft vertical). The course uses technical single-track, steep climbs and descents, double track, fire roads, dirt and gravel roads, and some pavement.

Organizers provide overnight camping at Wadleigh State Park and at Sunapee Middle High School with access to bathrooms, showers, and electricity. Registered competitors may have one 90-liter duffel and a cooler transported between overnight locations; organizers ask that duffel weight be limited. Support is limited: there is a midway aid station each stage, and Stage 3 includes multiple aid stations plus a water-only drop. Competitors must carry mandatory gear, including a cell phone, a waterproof fully seam-sealed jacket, a hydration system with at least 70 oz capacity, and a basic medical/blister kit.

The stage race is capped to preserve a small field; the 75-mile stage race limit is 100 racers plus up to five veteran spots, while the 50K has no maximum. Registration fees listed are $399 for the 75-mile stage race and $99 for the 50K. Prize money for 2026 totals $35,000 with allocations of $5,000 for the stage race and $30,000 for the 50K.
