Ragged 75 Stage Race and 50K : event summary

The event is a multi-day trail running event in western/central New Hampshire that follows much of the Sunapee Ragged Kearsarge Greenway around Lake Sunapee. It is offered as a three day stage race covering 75 miles with about 15,500 feet of total elevation gain, and as a separate point-to-point 50K covering approximately 33 miles with about 6,300 feet of vertical.

Stage format and logistics are central to the 75-mile event. The three stages are approximately 24 miles with 4,900 ft, 23 miles with 4,300 ft, and 33 miles with 6,300 ft. Overnight camping is provided after Stages 1 and 2 at Wadleigh State Park and Sunapee Middle High School, with access to bathrooms, showers, and electricity. Each stage has a 12 hour time limit.

Support and rules note that this is a limited support event. There is a midway aid station each day, Stage 3 has four aid stations plus a water only station, and water drops are provided. The stage race field is capped at 100 competitors with up to five additional veteran spots; there is no cap for the 50K.

Mandatory equipment for stage racers includes a cell phone, hydration pack with minimum 70 oz capacity, a fully waterproof seam sealed jacket, compass, course maps provided at check-in, and a medical or blister kit. A 90 liter duffel bag service is provided for transporting one competitor bag between nights. Entry fees listed are $399 for the 75 mile stage race and $99 for the 50K.
