Ragged 75 Stage Race and 50K

Event

The Ragged 75 Stage Race and 50k is a multi-day trail running event in Danbury and Sunapee, New Hampshire. The stage race covers a total of 75 miles with approximately 15,500 ft of elevation gain. A single-day 50k option follows a point-to-point trail of approximately 33 miles with about 6,300 ft of vertical gain. The course follows much of the SRKG Greenway around Lake Sunapee.

Course and format

The stage race is divided into three point-to-point stages:

• Stage 1: 24 miles, 4,900 ft vertical gain
• Stage 2: 23 miles, 4,375 ft vertical gain
• Stage 3: 33 miles, 6,300 ft vertical gain

Stage 3 and the 50k include four full aid stations and one water-only station at these approximate mile marks: 5.5, 11, 19, 26.2 and 30. The event uses hiking trails, single-track, double track, fire roads, dirt/gravel roads and some pavement.

Logistics and rules

Overnight camping is provided at Wadleigh State Park and Sunapee Middle High School; campers must bring tents and sleeping gear. The race provides camp kitchen facilities, course maps, camp showers, and transported duffel-bag service (one 90-Liter bag per competitor). Registration is capped at 100 racers for the stage race; there is no cap for the 50k. The event is limited-support: competitors must be largely self-sufficient, and outside support, crews and pacers are not allowed. A list of mandatory gear includes a cell phone, hydration pack with at least 70 oz capacity, fully waterproof jacket, course maps, compass and a basic medical/blister kit.
