Race to the Top of Vermont - 20th Anniversary
Race to the Top of Vermont is an annual fundraiser held at Stowe Mountain Resort. The 20th edition takes place on August 30, 2026. The event brings hikers, bikers, and runners from the U.S. and Canada together to ascend Mount Mansfield while supporting the Catamount Trail Association.
The main course follows the historic Mansfield Toll Road. The ascent is 4.3 miles long with 2,564 feet of elevation gain. Participants may enter as individuals, teams, clubs, or groups. The event also includes a kids fun run. Delta Dental is the title sponsor and has selected the Vermont Head Start Tooth Tutor Program as a highlighted charity. The race is part of the Delta Dental Mountain Challenge series. All entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Funds raised support the Catamount Trail Association and its chapters and partner groups, including the Dutch Hill Association of Skiers & Hikers, the Grateful Shreds, the Mad River Valley Backcountry Coalition, the Mansfield Backcountry Alliance, the Northeast Kingdom Backcountry Coalition, the Ridgeline Outdoor Collective, the Southern Vermont Trails Association, and the Western Mass Backcountry Alliance.
