Manned and unmanned aid stations are located approximately every five miles; manned stations are fully stocked with water, electrolyte drink, snack-type foods, soup and sandwiches. No distance between manned aid stations exceeds a little over nine miles. All manned aid stations offer drop bag access. The course is accessible to crew, and pacers are allowed for the second half of all events. Courses are USATF certified and eligible for records.

Race headquarters and packet pick-up are staged at Celebration Hall in Ottawa. Packet pick-up and drop-bag drop-off are held on the Friday evening before the race with late packet pick-up on race morning.

Finishers who complete their distance within the event time limits receive distance-specific custom belt buckles or medals. Additional event features include complimentary race photos, post race meals for participants, lodging options within 10 to 15 minutes of Celebration Hall, and a primitive camping area across from the staging location.
