The Prairie Spirit Trail event in Ottawa, KS, offers multiple distance options on a rails-to-trails out-and-back course that runs south from Ottawa. Distances include:

Turnaround points are Iola for the 100 miler, Welda for the 100K, Garnett for the 50 miler, and Richmond for the 50K. The course is primarily on crushed limestone with asphalt through towns and is described as flat. Pacers are permitted for the second half of all events.

Course, aid and services

Manned and unmanned aid stations are placed approximately every 5 miles. Manned stations are stocked with water, electrolyte drink, snack foods, soup and sandwiches; unmanned stations provide water only. All manned aid stations offer drop-bag access, and the course is accessible to crew.

Race headquarters and packet pick-up are at Celebration Hall, 1737 South Elm, Ottawa, KS 66067. Packet pick-up and drop-bag drop-off is held Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, with late packet pick-up on Saturday morning starting at 4:30 AM. Finishers within the event time limits receive distance-specific belt buckles or medals; first overall male and female in each race receive overall awards.
