Porterville 5K/10K Trail Run at Porterville Military Academy
On 04/10/2027 the Porterville Military Academy athletic department is hosting a community run/walk that starts and finishes at Porterville Military Academy in Porterville, CA. The course for the 5K and 10K is an out-and-back route on dirt paths. A children's quarter-mile short course is also offered.
Distances:
- 5K Run/Walk - out-and-back dirt path
- 10K Run/Walk - out-and-back dirt path
- Kids 1/4 mile - short course for children
- Virtual 5K/10K - remote participation with mailed race swag for nonlocal participants
All 5K participants receive a custom race t-shirt, a finisher medal, chip timing with a digital certificate, a numbered race bib, upbeat motivational music at the venue, and free parking. All kids 1/4 mile participants receive a custom race t-shirt and a finisher medal. Registration fees listed by the organizer include separate fees for in-person and virtual entries.
Age group awards will go to the top three male and top three female finishers in each age group; prize details are pending. Age groups are 1-10, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
Packet pickup is at the Porterville Military Academy front office with a date to be determined; morning pickup is available on race day. Unclaimed packets are not stored after the event and leftover supplies are donated to volunteers and local charities.
The event supports the Experimental Aircraft Association and acknowledges the Porterville EAA Chapter 1547 for its past support of the academy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
