Porterville 10K Trail Run

Event overview

The 3rd Annual Porterville 5K/10K Trail Run is scheduled for April 18, 2026 in Porterville, CA. The Porterville Military Academy athletic department is hosting the event. Races start and finish at Porterville Military Academy on a dirt path course laid out as an out-and-back route. Distances offered include:

• 5K Run/Walk
• 10K Run/Walk
• Kids 1/4 Mile Run/Walk
• Virtual 5K/10K

Participant benefits and awards

All 5K and 10K participants receive a custom race t-shirt, a finisher medal, chip timing with a digital certificate, a numbered race bib, upbeat motivational music, and free parking. All kids 1/4 mile participants receive a custom race t-shirt and a finisher medal. The top three males and top three females in each age group will receive a prize after the race; prize details are pending.

Age groups, packet pickup and virtual race

Age groups are 1-10, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+. Packet pickup is at the Porterville Military Academy front office; the pickup date and time are listed as TBD. Morning pickup on event day is available from 6:30 AM to 7:45 AM. Unclaimed packets are not stored after the race and are considered forfeited; leftover supplies are donated to volunteers and local charities. Virtual race medals are mailed to nonlocal participants after the race.

Supported organization

The event supports the Experimental Aircraft Association and specifically notes the Porterville EAA Chapter 1547, which has provided scholarships, flight experiences for more than 150 Porterville Military Academy cadets, and mentoring on flight theory.
