Surface mileage summaries by distance are provided by the organizer. The 87K and 62K have a 15-hour finish cutoff; the 87K also has a checkpoint cutoff at mile 42.3. Aid stations:

  • 87K: 8 fully stocked, 1 water-only
  • 62K: 6 fully stocked, 1 water-only
  • 25K: 1 fully stocked, 2 water-only
  • 10K: 1 water-only

Aid stations will offer drinks and food items such as sandwiches, fruit, cookies and electrolyte drink. Awards are given to top male and female finishers in overall and age categories. Lodging options include the Wild River Trail Inn, nearby motels, and local campgrounds. Emergency medical facilities are available within 30 to 60 minutes of the race location. Join the Hayward Lions Club Pre Birkie on Feb 7 for classic and skate races along the scenic American Birkebeiner Trail, with 42k and 26k options. Includes a sweatshirt, brat, beverage and sweets, with proceeds supporting service projects.

The NCTraces: Bird Sanctuary will take place in Solon Springs on Saturday 18 April 2026. You can run between 10 and 20 kilometers.
