The Birkie Trail Run takes place on September 26, 2026, at the American Birkebeiner Trailhead in Cable, Wisconsin. Race Details

The courses use the Birkie Trail, featuring winding paths, rolling hills, and sections of single-track trail. The marathon and half marathon routes include an ascent to the top of Mt. Telemark. The new 10K course will include a mix of ski trail and single-track trails. The Nordic Trek covers 8.5 miles on ski trails, logging roads, and double-track paths. The 5K uses the Birkie Trail and a single-track trail. There is a post-race party with awards ceremonies.

Registration & Logistics

Bib pick-up and an expo are held on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning at the Derksen Family Great Hall. A Friday group run is also offered. Aid stations on the course are stocked with UnTapped energy products. The top finishers in the marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, and relay events receive Rossignol trail running shoes as awards.
