Pitsea RC Crown to Crown 5K - May
This event is the second race in the Crown to Crown 2026 series, a set of seven measured off-road 5K races organised by Pitsea Running Club. The race day is 13 May 2026.
The course is a fully measured 5K, mainly on bridleways with some tarmac sections. The route leaves Beeleigh Avenue, follows Lee Chapel Lane, loops through Essex Wildlife Trust’s Willow Park, and returns to Westley Heights Car Park. Spikes are not suitable because of tarmac sections.
Parking at the venue is limited; participants may need to allow extra time and expect a short walk of about 10 minutes from parking. Toilets at the site are available.
Entry fees include online processing costs and vary by age and club affiliation. Fees are listed from £1.50 for ages 12 to 17; adult fees differ for club-affiliated and unaffiliated runners. On-the-day entries are available at the same price.
The event will be licenced by the TRA and held under UK Athletics rules. Race rules and safety measures include no under 12s, no dogs, no pushchairs, headphones allowed only if bone conductive, a single mass start, and gun-to-finish timing rather than chip timing. Course marshals, a tail runner, first aid, a defibrillator at the finish, and water at the finish will be provided. If the event is cancelled for safety or landowner reasons, entries may be transferred to a later 2026 race or refunded minus unavoidable card processing fees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
