The Pine Island Calusa Trail 5K Run and Walk takes place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in Bokeelia, FL. The event is a family- and pet-friendly walk/run partnered with the Florida Museum's Randell Research Center. The course includes approximately one mile on the Calusa Heritage Trail, a hard-packed gravel surface that may have bumps and some mud depending on weather. The route also includes climbing steps to the top of the Randell mound and descending the other side; the remainder of the course runs along quiet neighborhood streets. Participant medals will be provided and race tech shirts are guaranteed for those who register by January 1, 2026. Post-race refreshments and awards will be available.
Logistics and fundraising
Parking and race staging are at Alden Pines Clubhouse, 14261 Clubhouse Drive, Bokeelia, FL 33922. Packet pick up and pre-race registration are held at Century 21 on Pine Island, 10191 Stringfellow Rd, St. James City, on Thursday, January 29; race day packet pick up is available at the event. Race day registration is possible by a participant's cellular device and may depend on local signal strength. Entry for 2026 will open in late summer 2025. Event proceeds benefit the Kiwanis Club of Greater Pine Island and the children's programs at the Calusa Heritage Trail.
