Wissahickon Valley Park covers more than 2,000 acres and has over 50 miles of trails. The race has drawn over 500 registered runners in the past two years.
Race details
The half marathon course is more than 90% single-track trail. Courses include rolling hills and some technical sections with rocks and roots. Aid stations are spaced about every 3 to 4 miles and will offer water and Gatorade; runners are encouraged to carry a bottle and bring personal gels if needed.
There is an eight-hour time limit for completion. Bibs and race swag are available on race day only; there is no expo. Timing is manual using the Ultrasignup timing app, and bibs should be worn on the front and visible at the finish.
Every finisher receives a Philadelphia themed finisher medal. Trophies are awarded to the top 3 overall, top 5 in age groups 29 & under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and top 3 in 60 plus. Post-race activities include live music and a pizza party.
