Philadelphia Trail Marathon : Wissahickon Valley Park
The Philadelphia Trail Marathon is set for April 10, 2027, and takes place in Wissahickon Valley Park, a National Natural Landmark. The course is a 13.1 mile loop through steep slopes and schist rock outcroppings; marathon entrants complete the loop twice.
The route is approximately 95% single track and 5% gravel road, with technical rocky sections on the Yellow and White trails. Each loop includes about 1,300 feet of elevation gain, for roughly 2,600 feet total on the full marathon. The terrain includes many short steep climbs and forest canopy sections.
Headquarters are at the Houston Recreational Center, 900 Grakyn Lane, Philadelphia, PA 19128. Bib and swag pickup for preregistered runners are held on race day only; there is no pre-race expo. The course remains open for hikers and walkers until the afternoon.

Post-race offerings include live accordion music, a post race pizza party with baked goods, and a community atmosphere. Athlete items include a custom high performance race shirt and a heavy custom-cast finisher medal. Overall awards and age group awards are given, with unique prizes such as a Kuckulino desk clock and German Weatherhouse trophies.
