Perpetua Coast

Perpetua Coast is a trail running event held in the coastal village of Yachats, Oregon, and the Cape Perpetua National Scenic Area. The event takes place over two days in October and utilizes the trail systems of the Siuslaw National Forest and Oregon State Parks. The courses traverse diverse coastal terrain, including rocky shoreline bluffs, sandy beaches, old-growth rainforests, and open meadows.

A significant portion of the event occurs within the Cape Perpetua headland, which rises 800 feet above the Pacific Ocean. This area provides views of the shoreline and the Cape Perpetua Marine Reserve. The event is staged at The Adobe Resort, located on Highway 101, approximately 25 miles from both Newport and Florence.

Participants can choose from four distinct distances:

  • 50K (Saturday)
  • 20 Miler (Saturday)
  • Half Marathon (Sunday)
  • 10K (Sunday)

The registration fee includes a marked course, chip timing with live results, full-service aid stations, and medical support. Finishers receive custom awards, and post-race food and beverages are provided for all participants. While the half marathon and 10K races involve a shuttle bus departure to their respective starting points, the event staging and parking are centralized at the resort. The race organization supports the local community through donations to Waldport High School athletic teams. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
