Siuslaw Dunes is a set of early-season point-to-point trail races staged from Honeyman State Park near Florence, Oregon. The event offers the following distances:

  • 50K
  • 20 Miler
  • 12K

Courses traverse coastal terrain within the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and Siuslaw National Forest. Routes include open sand dunes with “tree islands”, forested single-track, old growth rainforest sections, stream crossings, and remote ocean beaches. The 50K is approximately 31.0 miles with about 2,100 feet of ascent and 2,070 feet of descent. The 20 Miler includes about 1,400 feet of ascent and descent. The 12K is a point-to-point course beginning after a shuttle to a forested campground start.

Logistics and key details

The event is staged at the East Woahink Day Use area at Honeyman State Park, about 3 miles south of old town Florence. All participants must ride shuttle buses from the finish area to race starts - no drop offs at start areas. Parking is available at East Woahink Day Use near check-in and the finish. Camping is available at Honeyman State Park year-round; hotels are in Florence, about a five-minute drive. Registration opens September 1 and closes in early March; fees vary by distance and registration period. Included services noted by the organizer are a marked course, chip timing and live results, full aid stations, professional medical support, radio communications, post-race meal, and event photography. The 12K participates in a USATF youth initiative for ages 14-19. The event benefits Siuslaw High School cross country and track programs.
