Course, registration and logistics

All courses run across sand dunes, forested singletrack, stream crossings and remote ocean beaches. The 50K is listed as 31.0 miles with approximately 2,100 ft of ascent and 2,070 ft of descent. The 20 Miler includes about 1,400 ft of ascent and 1,400 ft of descent. The 12K begins with a shuttle ride from Honeyman State Park to a forested campground start and finishes at East Woahink Day Use. All runners must ride the shuttle to the start; no drop offs are allowed at start areas. Parking and race staging are at the East Woahink Day Use Gazebo. Camping is available at Honeyman State Park; nearby lodging is in Florence. Registration opens September 1 and fees vary by entry window (example ranges: 50K $125–$150; 20 Miler $105–$125; 12K $65–$80; 12K Youth $40). The registration fee includes a fully marked course, parking, chip timing and live results, aid stations, medical support, radio communications, a post-race meal and a custom finisher award. The event benefits Siuslaw High School cross country and track and field programs. Dogs are not allowed at the start; leashed dogs may join at aid stations and are allowed at the finish area. Run the 12th annual Perpetua FatAss in scenic Yachats, OR, with trail distances from 9 mile to 50K and no entry fee. Routes are self supported with water stops and downloadable maps, and a post run potluck wraps up the day.
