Siuslaw Dunes : Daybreak Racing

Siuslaw Dunes is a trail running event on March 7, 2026, staged at Honeyman State Park near Florence, Oregon. The event is the first race in the Oregon Coast Trail Series and benefits Siuslaw High School’s Cross Country and Track & Field programs. The race takes place within the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and Siuslaw National Forest on lands traditionally stewarded by the Siuslaw and Quuiich (Lower Umpqua) peoples.

Courses, logistics and services

The event offers the following point-to-point distances:

  • 50K - 31.0 miles, approx. 2,100 ft ascent and 2,070 ft descent
  • 20 Miler - approx. 1,400 ft ascent and 1,400 ft descent
  • 12K
  • 12K Youth

Courses traverse open sand dunes with tree islands, old-growth rainforest, stream crossings and remote ocean beaches, plus forested single-track trails. All runners must ride provided shuttle buses to the start; drop-offs and parking at start areas are not allowed. Parking, camping at Honeyman State Park, nearby Florence lodging, chip timing with live results, full-service aid stations, medical support, radio communications, post-race meal, custom finisher awards, and professional photography are included with registration. Race shirts and hats are not included and must be preordered. The 12K is part of the USATF Mountain, Ultra, Trail Youth Initiative for ages 14-19, with discounted and a limited number of free entries. Dogs are not allowed at the start; leashed dogs may join from aid stations and are allowed at the finish area.
