Peak District South-&-North
The Peak District South-&-North is a late autumn trail running weekend based in Edale. The event features two days of running on classic trails through the White Peak and Dark Peak areas, including sections of the Pennine Way and Pennine Bridleway.
Participants can choose to enter for a single day or complete both days for a multi-day experience. The available distances are:
- 43 km (Dark Peak)
- 50 km (White Peak)
- 93 km (Both days combined)
The routes are located entirely on public rights of way. While the course is not waymarked with specific event signs, it follows established finger posts. Runners are provided with GPX files and course notes in advance. The total ascent for the 50 km route is 1439 metres, while the 43 km route features 1649 metres of elevation gain.
The event hub in Edale provides parking, pre-event and post-event hospitality, and hot food at the finish. On-course refreshment points and checkpoints are positioned throughout the routes. Optional hostel accommodation with breakfast is available for booking at the race headquarters to assist participants traveling from outside the local area.
All finishers receive an eco-medal. Trophies are awarded to the fastest male and female runners for all three distance categories, with additional age category awards for those completing the full 93 km distance. The event is held under a Trail Running Association permit, and participants must be at least 20 years old. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
