Ranger Ultras Peak District South & North

Ranger Ultras Peak District South & North takes place on 22 and 23 November 2025 in the Peak District, with start and finish in Edale. The event runs over two stages: Stage 1 in the White Peak (south) and Stage 2 in the Dark Peak (north). The route uses trails, moorland and gritstone edges. There are cut-off times and checkpoint controls, including at Hayfield and Edale.

Entries, fees and entry conditions

Entries opened 12 November 2023 and close 14 November 2025. Entries so far: 112 participants. Minimum entry age is 20 or older. Entry fees: Stage 1 only £57 unaffiliated / £55 affiliated; Stage 2 only £57 unaffiliated / £55 affiliated; Full race £89 unaffiliated / £87 affiliated.

Support, kit and logistics

Ranger Safety Team support is provided at HQ, road heads and hill top locations. Navigation notes and a GPX file are provided to entered participants. On-course provision includes snacks, fruit, soft drinks and soup; HQ provision includes tea, coffee, pizza and pasta. Finishers receive medals and trophies are awarded to first male and first female for Stage 1, Stage 2 and the full event. A minimum compulsory kit list is published in the race brief.

Accommodation options at The Peak Centre, Edale are available at additional cost (bunkroom and camp bed options with limited places). Tackle the fast, muddy Shepherds Skyline Fell Race on 1 November 2025, a testing 10 km with about 350 m of ascent and a steep descent off Stoodley Pike followed by a sharp climb. On the day entry makes it ideal for last minute runners.

Choose scenic 8.4 km or 16.4 km trails from Hartington through Beresford, Wolfscote and Biggin Dale. Finish at the village hall for hot drinks, local cheese and a goodie bag with farmhouse cheddar, crackers and a mini bottle of port.

Challenge yourself on the Soyland Moor Fell Race on Sunday 2 November 2025, a rugged 13.5 miles with about 1300 ft of ascent around Cragg Vale. Expect steep tarmac climbs, exposed moorland and classic fell terrain for experienced runners.
