Paluma Village Trail Run

The Paluma Village Trail Run is the sixth and final race in the Outer Limits Trail Run Series held in Paluma Village, QLD. The event takes place in the Wet Tropics World Heritage rainforest on the Paluma Range, which sits at over 900 m and is typically cooler than the coastal region in October. Race headquarters, start and finish for all distances are at the Village Green in Paluma (56 Mt Spec Road).

• 20 km
• Junior short distance (under 16 years)

The course is technical, with mossy rocks, slippery tree roots, tricky creek crossings and fallen trees on the track. Competitors may encounter leeches and wildlife. The trails are remote and deep in rainforest; the course is marshalled and clearly marked but runners should expect slower speeds than on road.

Mandatory gear is required for the 10 km and 20 km distances and includes two compression bandages, a fully charged phone, a whistle, an emergency blanket, and sufficient hydration and nutrition. Water on course is from natural sources only. Entry fees vary by distance and registration period; included items are a marked and marshalled course, first aid support, professional timing with an electronic chip and bib to keep, on-course photography, post-race recovery hydration and a fruit buffet, plus a post-race BBQ and prize presentations.
