Pajarito Mountain Run
Pajarito Mountain Run is a high alpine trail event held at Pajarito Mountain near Los Alamos, New Mexico. The advertised distance is 10K, though the route is described as slightly short of a full 10K. The course starts and finishes near the lodge and reaches a summit that tops out above 10,200 feet, with approximately 1,350 feet of total ascent.
The route climbs about 3.25 miles to the summit, including roughly one mile of rolling singletrack on the Lower Aspenola Trail and about 2.25 miles of ascent on a service road. The descent follows the Aspen For Trouble singletrack with brief sections on service road and singletrack before returning to the lodge. The course will be marked with yellow flagging, arrows, and directional signage at junctions. There are no cutoffs on course so hikers are allowed.
A summit aid station is planned roughly three miles into the race and will be primarily a water station with some sports nutrition gels available. Organizers request participants bring their own water vessel when possible to reduce waste. Event staff conduct trail maintenance before the event and sweep the course afterward to limit trash and preserve trails.
Registration pricing tiers include Standard until July 31 for $65, Late from August 1 to August 14 for $75, and Race Day for $80 cash only. T shirt sizing is guaranteed for entries before August 10. Refunds are handled as a rollover credit of 50 percent when requested 21 days or more before the event, excluding platform fees; no refunds or credits are given less than 21 days prior. Credit requests are made through the entrant account registration history. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
