Event Overview
The Old Zoo Half Marathon takes place on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the Old Los Angeles Zoo area in Griffith Park, Los Angeles. This is the event's second annual edition.

Participants can choose between two race distances:
- Half Marathon
- 12K
Course Details
Both courses start and finish at the Old Los Angeles Zoo area. The routes are described as relatively flat and take runners on scenic trails.
Participant Amenities
All finishers receive a custom finisher medal, with this year's commemorative animal medal being an elephant. Other included items are an official race T-shirt (while supplies last), a custom race bib, and a free downloadable online finisher certificate. The first 300 registrants also receive a commemorative collapsible soft flask water bottle. The event features chip timing, music at the start/finish, and post-race water and snacks. On-site sports massage is provided.
Registration & Logistics
Registration is available online. Early bird pricing is available until specified dates, after which the price increases. Packet pickup is available the day before the race at Run With Us in Pasadena, as well as on race morning starting at 6:15 AM at the start/finish area (4801 Griffith Park Dr, Los Angeles).
Awards
Awards are given for overall winners and age group placements in both distances. Top overall finishers in the half marathon receive cash gift cards, while top 12K finishers receive gift cards or a free entry to the following year's event. There are also team awards. Winners must be present at the awards ceremony to receive their awards.
Age Requirements
The minimum age to participate is 13 for the half marathon and 11 for the 12K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
