North American Vasa Festival of Races - 51st Annual

The North American Vasa Festival of Races takes place February 13–14, 2027 at Timber Ridge Resort in Traverse City, Michigan. The event is a two day Nordic ski festival featuring both freestyle and classic formats, youth competitions, and adaptive skiing.

Races in 2027 include long-distance and shorter options, plus a family-friendly Junior Vasa with age-group courses for children. Registration details vary by event; registration opens October 20, 2026 and most events close February 10, 2027 while some events have earlier deadlines. Entry fees range from small youth/adaptive fees up to larger fees for the 27K races. Participants choose a start wave or corral during registration; the organizers reserve the right to change wave assignments.

Several program features and discounts are offered in 2027. A referral refund provides $10 back per referred non-high-school, non-Jr Vasa skier up to $50 or the entry fee. Age-class prize perks apply to the 27K Freestyle race for top three finishers the following year. First time skiers entering Sunday’s 6K Tour may use code NEWBIE2027 for a 50% discount. King Vasa Viking Club members who have completed 30 or more long Vasas receive a special cloth permanent bib.

A Vasa Community Celebration will be held after Saturday’s races at Great Wolf Lodge, with appetizers, a cash bar, music, award pickup for Saturday races, and recognition of King Vasa members; tickets are priced differently online and at the door and attendance is limited.
