No Shame Shindig

No Shame Shindig is a running event held June 27, 2026 near Pierce, Nebraska. Distances offered are:

The event is in its second year. New items for 2026 include new swag and the addition of the marathon distance. Swag for participants includes a T-shirt, SpeedCup, bib belt, and cooling towel. Awards include a finisher medal and custom plaques for the top male and female finishers of each distance. Race-day food at the start/finish area includes PB&J, chips, cookies, quesadillas, grilled cheese, pickles, candy, crackers, potatoes, gummies, soda, water, ice, and electrolytes; the finish meal is to be determined. Registration opens November 1, 2025.

Location and logistics

The event is based at Willow Creek State Recreation Area on the 700-acre Willow Creek Reservoir, about 4 miles southwest of Pierce and about 15 miles northwest of Norfolk. Willow Creek SRA offers campsites with Electric Plus, Electric, Basic, and equestrian options. Willow Way Campground has 165 electric sites and additional basic sites. Amenities include picnic tables, fire rings/grills, drinking water, a dump and fill station, restrooms, showers, and laundry. Half of the campsites may be reserved; the remainder are first-come, first-served with self-registration via iron ranger. The course uses an 8-mile limestone hike/bike trail and may include a 2-mile connector to Pierce; organizers are still deciding on use of the connector. No Bull Around is a timed ultrarun at Willow Creek State Recreation Area near Pierce Nebraska, April 24 to 26 2026. Choose 48, 24, 12, 6 or 3 hour formats and enjoy lakeside camping and aid support.

Run 100 or 200 miles on Nebraska's Cowboy Trail, a largely flat crushed limestone rail trail perfect for runnable miles. The point to point 200 miler goes Norfolk to Valentine, field capped at 150 and supported by aid and sleep stations.
