The NIRCA Cross Country Open 6K is an annual race that precedes the National Intercollegiate Running Club Association (NIRCA) National Championships. The event will be held on the Blue River Cross Country Course in Shelbyville, Indiana.
Course and Format
The race is a 6K cross country event. Spikes may be worn at the runner's discretion. The event will take place regardless of weather conditions.
Participation and Entry
The race is open to the public. Suggested participants include members of the local community, middle- or high school runners in their postseason, fans of collegiate club running, NIRCA alumni, ineligible athletes, parents, and spectators. Online registration closes two days before the event, and the entry price increases starting November 1. Late or race-day registration will be available at the course.
A separate NIRCA 12k/14k Challenge is offered for NIRCA athletes registered for a main collegiate event. This challenge combines the Open 6K with another race for a total distance of 12K or 14K. Registration for this challenge is not open to the public.
Venue and Logistics
The event is at the Blue River Country Course at 725 Lee Rd in Shelbyville. Parking at the venue is free. A course map for the 6K is available online.
