Newbsanity Last Man Standing OCR Ultra

The event uses an obstacle loop format where athletes complete the same course every hour until only one competitor remains. The loop measures approximately 3 miles and includes obstacles; a common aid station is located roughly at the halfway mark. Except for restroom breaks, competitors must stay on course until each loop is finished. No personal aid is allowed during the loop.

Each loop begins precisely one hour after the previous loop. A short warning is given before each start and all competitors must begin the lap when the bell sounds; late starts are not permitted. Each lap must be completed within the hour to count, including the final lap. Laps are not officially timed; ranking is based on the number of laps completed before elimination. The last person to complete a loop is declared the winner; all others are recorded as DNF. If no runner can complete one more loop than anyone else, no winner is declared. The event has no preset cap on duration.

A relay option is offered for teams of three to six athletes. Each team fields one athlete to start a lap every hour. Relay teams do not compete directly against other teams but may record completion at the 12 hour and 24 hour marks. Solo and team registration fees apply.
