Narbona Pass Classic

The Narbona Pass Classic is the 46th annual running event held at Narbona Pass in the Chuska Mountains near Tohatchi, New Mexico. The event takes place at high elevation, around 9,000 feet, where mid day temperatures average about 70 degrees. The courses run through forested terrain described as difficult, offering mountain scenery and cooler high pine air.

Race options include the following distances:

• 10K Run, 6.2 Miles
• 5K Run/Walk, 3.1 Miles

Each of the 5K and 10K races is capped at 400 participants. Registration is online only; there is no in person registration at packet pickup or on race day. The organizer published a tiered fee schedule: Early registration through May 1 is $25, late registration after May 1 is $30, and entries after June 1 are $35. A transfer fee of $5 applies before registration closes on July 3, and no transfers are allowed after that date. Registration is scheduled to close on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 6pm.

Packet pickup is available at two early locations and at the race venue on the weekend before the event. On race day there is no in person registration at the venue. Water, watermelon, and granola bars will be available after the races. All finishers receive a medal and awards are presented to overall and age group winners, with results posted after the races.
