Mulholland Under the Stars Trail Race
Mulholland Under the Stars Trail Race takes place Saturday, December 5, 2026, at Marvin Braude Mulholland Gateway Park in Tarzana, CA. The event runs on a lighted course through the Santa Monica Mountains, offering views of city lights and stars.
Two distances are offered:
- 5K - 509 feet elevation gain, out-and-back.
- 10K - 855 feet elevation gain, reaches the Nike Missile Site.
All runners must start with a working headlamp or flashlight. Lights must last the entire race and will be checked at bib pick-up. Per MRCA safety protocol, no light means no start.
Aid stations are provided roughly at mile 1.5 for the 5K and mile 3.0 for the 10K. This is a cupless event; runners should bring a bottle or container for fluids.
The official cutoff time for both races is 8:00 PM. At the finish line, participants receive a medal and a race t-shirt. Awards ceremonies, food, and music take place after the race.
