The 36th annual Stinson Beach/Muir Woods trail event takes place on May 9, 2026 in Stinson Beach, California. Distances offered:

The event is limited to 300 participants. Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable; entrants may request a rollover credit (less a $20 fee) by April 9, 2026 under the organizer's policy. T-shirts are provided to all participants. Personalized award ribbons are mailed to the top three finishers, male and female, in each age group for all distances. Finisher medals are awarded to full and half marathon finishers. Bib numbers are mailed beginning two weeks before the event; unreceived bibs may be picked up on race morning.

Course and race logistics

The course begins at Stinson Beach and then climbs into the wooded trails of Muir Woods, following the Dipsea trail to Steep Ravine with a wooden ladder, natural rock and wooden staircases, and sections that require scrambling under tree trunks. The route features redwoods and oaks and returns to Stinson Beach for the finish. The course is marked with orange ribbon. Aid stations are located at miles 3.8, 7.5, 10.5, 14.2, 17.2, and 22.2; participants are advised to carry water. Course cut-off time is 6.5 hours. Headphones and other audio devices are not allowed on the course. Parking is available at Stinson Beach Park.
