Mudslinger Trail Run overview
The Mudslinger Trail Run is a half marathon held in Blodgett, Oregon as part of the Mudslinger Festival. The course runs through the Tum Tum unit of Starker Forests and finishes at Blodgett School. Packet pickup takes place at Blodgett School on the event weekend.
Entry is limited to 100 runners. Early registration is listed at $65 and later registration at $70. Awards are offered by age group for men and women with categories such as U19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 plus. Finishers receive a custom Mudslinger Trail Run coffee mug.
Organizers describe trail marking with pink arrows, orange and red striped ribbons on turns, and yellow X no signs to indicate wrong directions in some places. Some trail sections are steep and mud levels depend on weather. The event notes that specific trail running shoes are recommended for those sections.
The event is part of a combined competition called the Ultimate Mudslinger, which pairs the trail run with the Mudslinger XC mountain bike race. Competitors may enter individually or as teams and are scored for combined results. Categories for the combined competition include solo divisions by age and a fastest team division that pairs one trail runner with one mountain biker.
The event includes Trail Sisters approved policies including equal podiums and awards, women specific apparel and swag, menstrual products at aid stations, and a pregnancy and postpartum policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
