The Hollywood Sign Run | Hike is a multi-distance trail event in Griffith Park, Los Angeles. The event uses an out-and-back course that reaches the Hollywood Sign viewpoint and offers views of the Griffith Observatory, Downtown Los Angeles, and surrounding landmarks. Course and services
The 8M course combines approximately 6 miles of trails and 2 miles of asphalt. The 8K has about 3.12 miles of trails and 1.9 miles of asphalt. The 5K is primarily trail, and the kid run is all trails. Aid stations are placed along each course and porta-potties are provided at the start/finish area. Free photos are offered for the 8M at locations including Mt. Lee and the Hollywood Sign. A gear check is available at the start area. Finishers receive a medal and most participants receive a gender-specific short sleeve t-shirt; overall and age-group awards are given.
Logistics and policies
The start/finish is on the fire road just north of the Old Zoo picnic area in Griffith Park. Packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet Burbank before race day and at the event on race morning. Parking at the site is limited; carpooling or ride share is suggested. Dogs and strollers are not allowed. No refunds are offered; one-time registration transfers and one-time deferrals are permitted with requests made at least 14 days before the event. Race day registration is accepted.
