The event is a "Last Person Standing" format held at Mount Ascutney in Brownsville, VT (449 Ski Tow Rd). Participants complete repeated laps; each hour they must ascend and descend 1,209 feet and be at the start line on the hour to continue. Laps are short, between 2.3–2.7 miles. Each hour a participant may do either three laps up the t-bar path (403 feet per t-bar lap) or one lap to a higher point on the hiking trail (total 1,209 feet).

Logistics, awards and other details

There will be one aid station at the bottom with hot food and indoor tables and bathrooms at Ascutney Outdoors Center. Small prizes are planned for elevation milestones: 6,288 ft (about 5 laps), 14,505 ft (about 12 laps), and 29,032 ft (about 24 laps). Awards listed include Assist (2nd Place) and Winner (Last Person Standing). Camping is allowed the night before and personal aid stations such as EZ-ups and tables are permitted. Much of the course is visible from the bottom. The event takes place in late November on a mountain, so conditions may be cold at night and there could be snow.
