Moscow Mountain Madness - October 4, 2026
Moscow Mountain Madness is an organized trail running event in Moscow, Idaho, hosted by Palouse Road Runners. The event offers three distances on mostly single-track trails with some faster logging roads: a 50K, a half marathon, and a 5 mile course.
Courses run along the spine of Moscow Mountain and include sustained climbs, scenic Palouse views, and frequent aid stations. All distances have an option for a finish line drop bag; participants should leave bags no larger than a shoe box at bib pickup. The 50K route emphasizes single-track forest trails, includes two visits to the Four Corners aid station at approximately mile 12.5 and mile 21.6, and is supported by flagged markings plus a recommended downloadable GPX file for navigation and safety. The 50K has a 10 hour overall cut-off, which corresponds to an average pace of about 18.66 minutes per mile, and aid station cut-offs will be used to help manage the course.
Shirts are available as short sleeve tech shirts for a fee and a unique 50K shirt is offered to 50K finishers; shirt orders should be placed by September 5 for race day availability. Registration does not include refunds or rollovers; registrants may purchase insurance, or change down in distance without refund of price difference. Awards will be given to first place male, female, and nonbinary runners overall and masters for each distance.
Volunteer roles include parking support, bib pickup, start and finish shifts, aid station staffing, and course marking or sweeping. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
