Courses and logistics
Courses use singletrack trail, dirt roads and the Valley Drive. Key course features named in the route include Sentinel Mesa Trail, Wildcat Trail, the Marlboro Route, North Window, Three Sisters Aid Station, Mitchell Mesa, Totem Pole, Rain God Mesa, Sand Springs and The Cube. The half marathon route reaches just under 13.5 miles. The 50K course totals about 32.25 miles and includes three visits to Three Sisters Aid Station.
There are two cut-offs at Three Sisters Aid Station (mile 20.95 and mile 28.75); runners arriving after each cut-off may be directed to the finish or transported. Aid stations are supplied with fluids, gels and a variety of nutrition; Mitchell Mesa has a light aid station. The event is cup-less, so runners should plan personal hydration. Drop bags are allowed at Three Sisters Aid Station and will be returned to the finish. Pacers may join runners after the Mitchell Mesa segment.
