Event overview

Monster of Mazinaw Trail Race 2026 takes place on September 19, 2026 at Bon Echo Provincial Park in Cloyne, Ontario. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario and offers multiple trail distances:

• 43 km
• 30 km
• 10 km

Registration is limited to 250 participants. The registration fee includes a race tee, race bib, a custom finisher's medal for finishers, and food and drinks at aid stations. Park admission is not included in the race fee. Camping at Bon Echo can be reserved through Ontario Parks; camping reservations open five months in advance.

Course, safety and logistics

The routes combine wide groomed trails and technical rocky single track with roots, steep ascents and descents. Large sections of the 30 km and 43 km routes run on back-country trails with limited access; runners should be prepared to go 12-17 km without aid. Aid stations will provide water, an electrolyte drink, PB & J, and sweet and salty snacks. The event is cup-less, so participants must carry a collapsible cup or bottle for refilling. GPX files from the 2025 event are available and the 2026 course will be similar in route, elevation, and terrain. A generous 8 hour time limit is in place to complete the course. The organizer permits bib transfers and offers a 100% race credit if a participant cancels more than 30 days before the race.
