Monster of Mazinaw Trail Race 2026

The Monster of Mazinaw Trail Race takes place in Bon Echo Provincial Park, located in Cloyne, Ontario. This event features a variety of terrain ranging from wide groomed trails to technical, rocky single-track paths. Participation is limited to a maximum of 250 runners.

The race offers three distinct distances:

  • 10 km (noted as approximately 11 km)
  • 30 km
  • 43 km (referred to as Canada's shortest ultramarathon)

A significant portion of the 30 km and 43 km events takes place on backcountry trails characterized by numerous roots, rocks, and steep ascents and descents. Due to limited access in these areas, runners may need to travel up to 17 km between aid stations and must be self-reliant with their own hydration packs. The aid stations provide water, electrolyte drinks, and various snacks, but the event operates as a cup-less race.

Participants are given a generous 8-hour cut-off time to finish the course, with early start options available for those who require more time. Registration includes an event t-shirt, a race bib, and a custom finisher's medal for those who complete their distance. Park admission is separate from the race fee for those not camping on-site. The venue offers various accommodation options including tent camping and yurts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
