Course and logistics

The course follows the Monsal Trail, a former Midland Railway line. The route passes through four tunnels and across the Monsal viaduct, and runs through the Derbyshire Dales. The trail is traffic free and described as multi-terrain and undulating. Detailed route maps, including GPX files, are available for download.

Race headquarters are at Bakewell Station. There is no general car parking at the station except for disabled motorists; town centre pay-and-display car parks are about 500 metres from the station. Hassop Station, about a mile along the trail, offers parking, spectator facilities and a café. On-the-day entry fees, subject to availability, are Half Marathon £35 and 10k £30. The event includes a bespoke medal, free photographs, and trophies and prizes for leading runners. Event information is sent to registered entrants before race day.
