Monsal Trail Half Marathon Weekend

The Monsal Trail Half Marathon Weekend offers two distances: half marathon and 10k. The event takes place on both Saturday and Sunday in late October, starting from the old Bakewell station site in Bakewell, Derbyshire.

The route follows the Monsal Trail, a multi-terrain, undulating path on a former railway line. It passes through four tunnels and over the Monsal viaduct. The trail is traffic-free and is known for views of the Peak District and Derbyshire Dales.

Participants receive a bespoke medal, free race photographs, and trophies and prizes are awarded to leading runners. The minimum age for the 10k is 15, and for the half marathon it is 17.

On-the-day entry fees are £35 for the half marathon and £30 for the 10k, subject to availability. Parking for the event is not available at Bakewell Station except for disabled motorists. Public pay-and-display car parks are located approximately 500 metres away in Bakewell town centre. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
