Monsal Mash

Monsal Mash is a single short fell race that combines two contrasting sections. The first half follows flat, fast trail running along Monsal Dale. The second half takes a direct route up and down Fin Cop and finishes with a climb to Monsal Head. The course measures 9.5 km with approximately 500 m of climb.

The event is based at The Stables, Monsal Head, Bakewell DE45 1NL. Parking is limited; there is a large paid public carpark near the registration area with public toilets. Parking on Castlegate Lane (B6465) is not permitted and there is limited street parking in Little Longstone.

Entries open on Wednesday 1 July 2026 and close on Wednesday 28 October 2026. Minimum entry age is 18 and maximum field capacity is 250 runners. Entry fees are listed separately for FRA members and non members.

The race is licensed by the Fell Runners Association and is governed by FRA rules. Competitors must carry the mandatory kit as required by the FRA; the requirement may be adjusted depending on conditions. The use of GPS navigation or poles is not allowed and running with dogs is not allowed. Breaking the rules can result in disqualification.
