Moel y Gest

Moel y Gest is a fell race held at Tyddyn Llwyn Camp Site, Borth y Gest, Porthmadog, LL49 9UR. The main course is a 5.9 km route with approximately 349 m of climb. The route is partially waymarked and classified AS, so experience and local knowledge are beneficial.

The event is part of the North Wales Mid Week Series and includes a separate juniors programme with categories u8, u10, u12 and u14; junior entry is listed as £1. Minimum age for the main race is over 15. Parking at the venue is limited; car sharing is recommended.

Pre-registration is available up to 20:00 on the previous Sunday. Recorded best times for the course are 30:20 for the male record (2023) and 38:41 for the female record (2016). The event is insured by the Welsh Fell Runners Association.

Ultra-Trail Snowdonia by UTMB is a UTMB World Series trail running event in Llanberis, North Wales from 15 to 17 May 2026. It offers multiple mountain race distances from 25 km to 163 km with significant elevation gain.

A mountain race on Cader Idris of 16.9 km with 915 m of ascent, run on a partly marked route that requires navigation and experience. Entries open online with a limit on competitors and chip timing in place.

A midweek fell race in the North Wales series over approximately 8 km with 470 m of climb, mandatory checkpoints and a steep uphill finish; pre-registration is required with additional entry notes and junior categories listed.
