Mississippi Trail 50
The Mississippi Trail 50 is a multi-distance trail running event held March 5–6, 2027, near Laurel, Mississippi, on the Longleaf Horse Trail in the De Soto National Forest. The course runs through gently rolling pine forest and is mostly single track with some double track logging roads. Packet pickup is at the trailhead and post-race food is available at the start/finish area.
Distances offered include:
- 100 Mile
- 50 Mile
- 50K
- 20K
The event uses looped courses. The 100 mile race covers seven 12.5 mile loops and two 6.1 mile loops and is treated as an all or nothing event with a 30 hour time limit. The 50K and 50 Mile events have a 12 hour time limit. Runners in the shorter events may switch to a shorter distance after completing one or more loops; runners who switch during the race are counted as finishers but are not eligible for trophies.
The event provides finisher mementos, with belt buckles awarded to 50 Mile and 100 Mile finishers. This edition is the 30th annual running of the series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
