Midwest States 100 : Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest

Midwest States 100 is a trail race held in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest near Westboro, Wisconsin. The event offers multiple distance options:

  • 100 mile
  • 100k
  • 50k

The majority of the course follows Midwest sections of the Ice Age Trail, a 1,000 mile footpath contained entirely within Wisconsin and designated as one of the country’s National Scenic Trails. The route passes through varied terrain carved by ancient glaciers, including rocky sections, open prairies, forests, single-track trail and dirt forest roads. Runners can expect stretches of trail with few other users and landscape changes between different forest sections.

Race start and finish are located at W7969 Park Rd, Westboro, WI 54490. Organizers rent the Spearhead campground for participants in the days before the event; campground space is limited and reservations are arranged through the event. The race information highlights on-trail experiences, camping logistics, and use of the Ice Age Trail as a primary corridor for the course.
