Summer Evening 2 - Brereton Heath

The event offers a range of colour coded courses from White, Yellow, Orange, Light Green, Red, Very Short Green, Short Green, Green through to Blue. White and Yellow courses place controls on simple linear features and paths and are aimed at young children and family groups. Orange and Light Green increase basic navigation and are suited to novices and improvers. Green and Blue provide harder navigational or longer physically demanding options and are aimed at experienced orienteers. The organiser also describes Brown and Black as very physically demanding and Score as visiting as many controls as possible within a set time.

Pre-entries are via RaceSignUp when available and online entry is via RaceSignUp. The site is signed from the A54 Holmes Chapel to Congleton road. Parking is metered and registration is outside the Visitor Centre. What3words location is provided.

Trail runs nearby

A one-lap, approximately 10 km trail race at Quarry Bank Mill on 19 May 2026. The route mixes trail, grass, tarmac, gravel and steps and includes a charity contribution for tree planting.

A social *10 km* trail run from Kickback Coffee’s Bollington HQ with free coffee on arrival. The route includes stiles, steady climbs, and panoramic views across the Peak District and Manchester.

A BS Category fell race in Castleton on 22 May 2026 covering 9.2 km with 427 m ascent along the Great Ridge and descending from Hollins Cross. Entry is via SiEntries, fee £8 and minimum age 18.

An evening fell race around Carsington Pasture with views of the Peak District and Carsington Water. The *9.5 km* route has 230 m of ascent, rough pasture and two road crossings; free parking and post race food are available.
