About the race
McKelligon Canyon Challenge is a running event held in El Paso, Texas at McKelligon Canyon (1500 McKelligon Canyon Rd.). The event offers two distances: a 5K Run/Walk and a 1 Mile Walk. The course uses the canyon area, with the race assembly located in the McKelligon Canyon Amphitheater Court Yard; parking is limited and carpooling is recommended.
The atmosphere combines community support with post-race food and refreshments. Special features include a Finisher Medal for the first 300 5K finishers, trophies for the top overall male and female 5K finishers, and medals in age groups. Proceeds benefit El Paso community gardens and health promotion activities and wellness programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
