Madder Than a Wet Hen

Course

The 5K course includes approximately 1,100 feet of total elevation gain. It begins on forest trails. The route features a one-third mile section directly down the middle of the Embarras River. In July, the river is typically ankle to knee deep. After the river section, the course finishes with a steep hill climb.

Runner Experience

The field size is limited to 125 participants. The event is described as having an intimate, community atmosphere. Post-race refreshments include pancakes and ice cream.

Registration is limited to 125 spots. Participants are advised to wear shoes suitable for getting wet and sandy. Primitive tent camping is available on-site for a fee ($10 add-on), with porta potties and an outdoor shower provided for campers.
