Madder Than a Wet Hen

Course

The Madder Than a Wet Hen is a 5K trail run held in July. The course features approximately 1,100 feet of elevation gain and includes a notable section where participants run directly down the middle of the Embarras River for roughly one-third of a mile. The river is typically shallow at this time of year. The route concludes with a steep climb known as Billy Goat Hill near the finish line.

Event Details

The event takes place in Charleston, Illinois, on the trails at Willenborg Woods. Participation is limited to 125 runners. After the run, pancakes and ice cream are provided.
