Lula Lake Trail Blazer
Lula Lake Trail Blazer is a trail running event at Lula Lake Land Trust on Lookout Mountain, Georgia. The event offers multiple race distances and a kids fun run along the preserve and connecting trail systems. Proceeds support trail construction, maintenance, and the land trust’s conservation mission. Lula Lake Land Trust has built over 40 miles of trail on its properties, including the Moonshine trails, Cloudland Connector Trail, and Durham Mine Trails.
Race distances:
- 50K - trail ultra, uses CCT Nickajack section, about 5,000 ft elevation gain.
- Half Marathon - single-track climbs through Moonshine Trails, over 1,400 ft elevation gain.
- 10K - follows Core Preserve, passes two waterfalls, bluff overlook, 630 ft elevation gain.
- Kids 12 & Under - 1 mile out-and-back on gravel road with obstacle elements; parents may run.
The 50K course includes six aid stations and one light aid station; the first is at mile 7 and most stations are spaced roughly 3-4 miles apart. All aid stations except one supply water, Tailwind, cola, sandwiches, crackers, salty chips, pickles, fruit, and trail mix; one light aid station provides only water. Hiking poles are allowed on the 50K and parts of the back half are on private property and not open for pre-race access.
Optional add-ons include a Friday night camping option and an age-restricted beer mile event. Registration provides food, drinks, and access to the afterparty. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
