Lula Lake Trail Blazer
The Lula Lake Trail Blazer is a trail running event held at Lula Lake Land Trust in Lookout Mountain, GA, with the start/finish located near 5000 Lula Lake Road. The event raises funds for trail building and maintenance; proceeds support Lula Lake’s trail work and conservation mission.
Distances offered:
- 50K
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- Kids run 1 mile for ages 12 and under
Course information: the 10K follows the Core Preserve and passes two waterfalls, a bluff overlook, and Rock Creek, with a total elevation gain of about 630 ft. The Half Marathon includes roughly 1,400 ft of elevation gain with a sustained climb on single-track Moonshine Trails that adds about 800 ft over seven miles, then returns to the 10K section. The 50K follows the half marathon for the first ~10 miles, continues into the Nickajack section of the CCT to High Point, and totals about 5,000 ft of elevation gain. Much of the 50K back half is on private property and is not open for pre-race access.
Aid and logistics: the 50K course has six aid stations and one light aid station; the first aid station is at mile 7 and stations are generally spaced 3–4 miles apart, with a longest gap of about 5 miles. Most aid stations carry water, sports drink, sodas, sandwiches, snacks, fruit, and trail mix; one station provides only water and is under two miles from the next station. Camping and a beer mile are available as paid add-ons; the beer mile is restricted to participants aged 21 and over with ID checks. Dogs may attend as leashed spectators but may not run. There are no refunds or transfers; deferrals are only considered for certain medical situations. Prize categories award top three finishers in Men, Women, and Non Binary divisions for each race.
