Lost 118 Ultra
Lake Okeechobee, United States • 28 Feb 2026
Event overview
Lost 118 Ultras is a 118-mile ultramarathon held around Lake Okeechobee, Florida. The event is the 20th running in 2026 and uses the Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail (LOST), a loop that starts in Clewiston, runs counterclockwise around the lake, and finishes at the start location. The entry fee for 2026 is $118.
Course and conditions
The route follows the 118-mile Herbert Hoover Levee. Most of the surface is a 10-foot wide paved asphalt path, with about 15 miles of hard-packed crushed shell double track. The levee is 35 feet high and fully exposed, with no shade or tree cover. There are short roadway sections required to cross canals and rivers. Wildlife in the area includes a variety of birds, alligators, and other local animals. The levee rehabilitation project was completed in 2023.
Support, rules and cutoffs
Runners may choose between the crew-supported 118-mile division or a solo self-supported cart division. Crew is mandatory for the regular 118-mile division. The solo cart division requires the runner to carry all supplies on a cart and to finish with the same cart. Required cart items include at least 2 gallons (8 liters) of potable liquid and 2,000 calories of food at the start, a map, phone with extra battery, GPX track, headlamp with extra batteries, hat or buff, and emergency clothing or blanket. There is one aid station at the halfway point (Lake Okeechobee Park). Cutoffs require reaching the halfway mark within 18 hours and finishing the loop within 38 hours.
Other details
There are 22 designated crew access points and additional informal contact points. Pacers may join at or after South Bay (about mile 15). Finishers within the 38-hour limit receive a buckle. A portion of race revenue supports the Cypress Chapter of the IWLA. Timing is electronic with live updates. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
