Lake Okeechobee, United States • 28 Feb 2026

Event overview

The LOST 118 Ultras is an annual ultramarathon held around Lake Okeechobee, Florida. The 2026 edition is the 20th running and takes place during the full moon weekend in February. The main distance is 118 miles, run as a full loop around the lake on the Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail. Runners may enter the crewed 118-mile division or the solo self-supported cart division. Relay and 100k half-loop options are not offered. The entry fee for the 20th anniversary is $118. Registration closes on February 15; refunds are available in full before December 31, 2025 and not available after that date.

Course, rules and logistics

The route follows the Herbert Hoover Levee around Lake Okeechobee and is mostly a 10-foot paved asphalt path, with about 15 miles of hard-packed crushed shell double track. There are several brief roadway sections to cross canals and rivers. The course is exposed with no shade or tree cover. There are 22 designated crew access points and one official aid station at the halfway mark in Lake Okeechobee Park; that aid station is open during the race.

All runners must have crew support; solo self-supported cart runners must carry all supplies on their cart and meet specific requirements, including minimum liquids and calories at the start, a GPX track, lights, and a working cell phone with spare power. Road sections require runners to face traffic and use reflective safety gear. Time limits require reaching the halfway mark within 18 hours and finishing the loop within 38 hours. Electronic chip timing and live updates are provided. A portion of race revenue supports a local conservation charity. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
