Loop the Lemur at the Ross Park Zoo

Binghamton, United States • 17 May 2026

Event overview

Loop the Lemur at the Ross Park Zoo takes place on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Ross Park Zoo in Binghamton, New York (60 Morgan Road). The event is the inaugural edition and offers four timed events: a 6-hour, 2-hour, 1-hour, and the Little Lemur Kids Fun Run (open to ages 1 to 14). Each registrant receives a custom Loop the Lemur shirt and a custom medal; registrants who register by April 30 are guaranteed a shirt. Awards will be given to overall male and female, second and third place male and female, and the team with the most laps. A portion of event proceeds will support Ross Park Zoo conservation efforts for the black-and-white ruffed lemur.

Course, rules and amenities

All timed events take place on a 0.8 mile loop inside the zoo. Participants complete as many laps as they can; only completed laps count and one completed lap qualifies for an official finish. Runners and walkers share the course. Crew is not allowed on the course. An aid station is provided for the 6-hour and 2-hour events and is sponsored by BATS. Participants may leave a drop bag at the lemur location and access it each lap; receiving nutrition or support from spectators on course is not allowed and may lead to disqualification. Headphones are strongly discouraged and may result in disqualification if they contribute to an accident. Portable toilets are available at the start and halfway points.
