Litton Birks Fell Race
Litton Birks Fell Race is a fell running event based at the Queens Arms in Litton, Skipton, North Yorkshire (BD23 5QJ). The senior course is a 5 km route through Littondale and Upper Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park with about 362 m of ascent. A new course was adopted in 2024.
A programme of junior races runs alongside the senior event. Age categories and approximate distances are listed below; minimum junior age on the day is 6 years and the minimum age for the senior race is 17.
- 5 km senior race, about 362 m ascent
- U9 approx 0.8 km, 22 m ascent
- U12 approx 1.6 km, 63 m ascent
- U14 approx 1.9 km, 103 m ascent
- U17 approx 3.2 km, 219 m ascent
Age categories for juniors are determined by age on 1 May 2025. Entry fees listed are FRA member £5.00, non member £6.00, and junior entry £3 on the day. Registration and prize giving take place at the Queens Arms. Parking is available in a field about 300 m from the start with signage and marshals. Participants are asked to carry required kit including map, compass, whistle, waterproof top and bottoms with taped seams, hat and gloves.
